These terms (the "Terms") apply to the Tools for Boox mobile application and to the https://toolsboox.com website (together, the "Service"), operated by Gábor AUTH ("we", "our" or "us"). By installing or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Using the app
We give you a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to install and use Tools for Boox on the devices you own or control. Most features work without an account, and your calendar pages, notes and drawings stay on your device. How we handle information is described in our Privacy Policy.
Your content
What you write and draw is yours. We do not claim ownership of it, and we do not receive it unless you use one of the optional features below.
- Cloud sync stores a copy of your calendar in your own cloud storage: your Google Drive. It stays in your account there, and that provider’s terms apply to it.
- Team Drawer pages are shared: anyone who can open a room sees and can draw on its pages, so do not put anything private on them. Team Drawer pages are stored on our servers and deleted 7 days after their last change, except for a few built-in example rooms. We may remove content from a shared page that is unlawful or abusive.
Purchases and subscriptions
Tools for Boox is free to install. Some features are paid, and their prices are shown in the app before you buy:
- Premium is a one-time purchase that unlocks creating, changing and deleting calendar events.
- Simple two-way sync is a subscription that uploads your calendar pages to your cloud storage, so that they sync between your devices. When a page was changed on two devices, you choose which copy to keep.
- Smart two-way sync is a subscription that does everything Simple two-way sync does, and also merges a page changed on two devices, keeping the strokes of both.
Each subscription is offered monthly or yearly. Purchases are made through Google Play, and the store’s terms govern payment, renewal, cancellation and refunds.
- Payment is charged to your store account when you confirm the purchase.
- Free trial: where a subscription comes with a free trial, the trial turns into a paid subscription at its end, unless you cancel before then. Any unused part of a free trial ends when you buy a subscription.
- Renewal: a subscription renews automatically for another period of the same length, at the price then in effect, unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the current period ends. The renewal is charged within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- Cancelling is done in the store’s subscription settings: Google Play’s Payments & subscriptions. The subscription stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
- Switching between the two subscriptions, or between monthly and yearly, follows the store’s rules for upgrades and downgrades.
- After a subscription ends, your pages stay on your device and in your cloud storage, and downloading pages from the cloud stays free. Uploading stops, and so does merging after Smart two-way sync ends.
Some versions of the app also send a purchase’s details to our server, which confirms them with the store; what is stored is described in the Privacy Policy.
Acceptable use
Do not use the Service to break the law, to harm or harass others, or to interfere with the Service or our servers – for example by flooding Team Drawer or by trying to reach data that is not yours.
Keep your own backups
Your pages live on your device, so a lost, reset or replaced device can take them with it. Export a backup from Calendar Settings, or turn on cloud sync, to keep a copy. We cannot restore content that was stored only on your device or in your own cloud storage.
Availability and changes
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". Online features – Team Drawer, sync and purchase checks – depend on our servers and on third parties such as Google, and may be unavailable at times. We may change, add or remove features. Tools for Boox is a planning tool: do not rely on it for safety-critical or emergency purposes.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for the loss of data, arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that you have as a consumer and that cannot be waived.
Third-party services
The Service relies on services of other companies, including Google Play, Google Drive and Google Firebase. Their own terms and privacy policies apply to how you use them. Links to other websites are provided for convenience; we are not responsible for their content.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always on this page, with its effective date at the top. If you keep using the Service after a change, you accept the updated Terms.
